3 days trekking tour to Aural Mountain, Cambodia. Step into a tallest peak of Cambodia, across 17 hills to reach the peak and stunning views of the evergreen mountain and forest. Mt Aural is also home of species are unique to the country such as Cambodian Laughingthrush, Chestnut-headed Partridge, Mountain Scops Owl, Great Hornbill and a numerous mountain bird. It is 1,813 meters tall It is in the eastern part of the Cardamom Mountains. We walking on a flat landscape with a few unproblematic crossroads, then some rise to the first camp where we’ll set up camping tent or hammock for an overnight stay. It was at the last point before the peak where there was running water in the immediate vicinity. On next day we step up through bamboo forest, hilly, and explore the evergreen mountain, jungle from the small trails and hit the second based camp at 1200. We set hammock or stay in a small house and cook our meals as jungle experience. Supported by our experienced trek team ascend to Aural Mountain overlooked by the richest natural setting, and overnight stay on hammock, tent or in the small house depending on available space. A final sightseeing of rural villages where you’ll learn about real life and real culture of local people is a great way to sign off on this unforgettable adventure.

Step on a flat landscape and Stay on a water vicinity
We will pick you up at your hotel at 7am by Tuk Tuk or minivan upon the group size. Then, we drive to our meeting point at office of Vana Adventure Travel. On arrival, our staff will help you to load your stuff to the supported vehicle for Aural Mountain Trip. We drive on 3 hours to Sre Ken village where you’ll having lunch at there. The Sre Ken village is located on the foothill of Aural Mountain which about 12km where we will hike after lunch. We step on flat landscape through the villager’s trails to the first camp. Stunning views of Aural Mountain, jungle and wild snuffing are the great way to inspire our speed. Our trek team, will set up the camping site where surrounded by the bamboo forest, close to the water vicinity as a great way for cooking, take a bath and refreshing on the first day trek.

Hike from lowest camp to the peak
After breakfast and hot coffee in the morning at the lowest camp, we need to pack something to carry and step up to the second camp. Lunch box, drinking water and everything must be complete before we leave. Our step up from the bamboo forest, and small path in the dense jungle where you’ll across 13 hills. We hit the second camp at 1200 meters where one of non-government organization was build a small house to serve the hikes. In the house could be available 6 hikers and we cook outside, it is the first come and first serve the space. After we relax and refresh at the second camp, we continue our step to reach the Mt. Oral peak which about 6km from the second camp. On arrival to the peak, there is a small Buddhist temple and a small house of mountain spirit where we can pray for our prosperity, healthy, lucky and see the Cambodia flag with the sigh boat of Mt. Oral 1813 meters. After we are on the top of Oral mountain, we step down back to second camp to stay one more night at there. Foggy is most of the trails and in the evening, it became dark and very dark. Many creepy sounds in the night and climate is very nice which about 16 to 20 degrees at night and some time having rain. Our team, will fire, make steam rice and cook some foods for our wonderful dinner in the heart of Cambodian mountain.

Downhill from second camp to the villages and drive back to Phnom Penh
Our breakfast and hot morning coffee still available on this day, after that we hike through the small trail, see many tall tree and very refresh with a nice breezy in the morning. We step downhill to the foothill which about 15km (9 miles) on the same hiking trail. Our lunch may on the trails and we have local transport waiting for pick us up from the foothill to drive back to the Sre Ken village. After a sightsee to the Khmer villages and refreshing with a fresh coconut juice we have a private bus transfer back to Phnom Penh capital city. On the landing journey, we will have a chance to try some local street food, and local dinner before we arrive the city.
Trek Meals 15 km (9 miles) B L D
Cambodian food tends not to be as hot or spicy as Thai and 85% of Cambodia food are come from vegetable and fish as normally they eat as a fresh meal. The most popular fast food in Cambodia, often served from street stalls, is the Chinese noodle soup. Commonly Cambodia meals is including steam rice, while your traveling on this journey we will find a wide variety of Cambodia cuisines such Chicken sour soup, stir fried chicken with pine apple, green herb soup, dry fish, dry beef, and pork ribs. You will try local food such as ‘charcoal chicken’, ‘sticky rice’ and ‘fried fish’ will commonly be offered.
We walking through small flat trails, hilly and forestry landscape. Birds flying from tree to tree, and wild animal snuffing underbrush of the rainforest at Aural Mountain as the eastern of Cardamom mountain. You may have a chance to see Great Horn Bill, Cambodian Laughingthrush, Chestnut-headed Partridge, Mountain Scops Owl, and a numerous mountain bird. That mountain also home of wild animals such as Fly Gibbon, Wild pig, Monkey, and a numerous of Asian wild. Most of our trails is involved with bamboo forest, jungle, climb up and down hill by foots.
There are 2 nights in the jungle by tents with sleeping bag or hammock with insect mug as well as a hiker’s house if it would be available space. All our 2 nights stay in the jungle is close to the water vicinity where it would be great for us take a bath and cooking.
Trekking Team Supported
Our experience trek team will happy to serve your trekking adventure and leaving you to enjoy the experience of being in the mountains. English speaking hike guide is a whole organized of the trip, 1 local guide and villagers will lead us and helping us from the villages to the peak. They will carry some stuff such as tents, hammock, whole group foods, cooking materials and help us to set up the sleeping site and cooking. We also use local transport for pick us up from the foot hill back to village on the 3rd day.
For this holiday you will need comfort hiking clothing, including suitable hiking boots or shoes and a sleeping bag. Here we would like to recommend an essentials stuff and nice to help equipment for the journey.

Cambodia has a tropical climate, with a rainy season from June to September. The hottest months are just before the monsoon, in April and May. From October through to April there is little rain and from December through to March is the `cool` season although it rarely gets cold. Daytime temperatures will hover around a humid 25 degrees centigrade, falling to the low 16’s at night. Please check, when is good time to visit Cambodia.
