  1. Day 1: Trails of Mekong Bike Ride and Overnight Stay in the

    Our journey begins at 6:30 am in Phnom Penh, where we embark on a cycling adventure along the Mekong River trail. We’ll explore local villages, farmland, and markets, and have the opportunity to connect with local artisans at a silk weaving workshop. Before continuing our journey on the other side of the Mekong River, we’ll enjoy a refreshing break with fresh fruit. Throughout the cycling expedition, we’ll immerse ourselves in the daily lives of local farmers, witnessing their agricultural practices and learning about their cultivation of vegetables, tobacco, corn, rice, and fruits. Lunch will be served on site. After completing the bike ride, we’ll transition to our support vehicle and transfer to Kampong Cham town, renowned as the ”Town of Relationship Man & Woman, ” where landmarks like Phnom Pros & Phnom Srei symbolize this connection. Upon reaching our hotel, we’ll have time to rest before embarking on an evening tuk-tuk tour to explore the town, including crossing the iconic bamboo bridge, a hallmark of Kampong Cham during the dry season.

  2. Day 2: Upstream Mekong River Bike Ride & Transfer to Kratie

    After enjoying breakfast and checking out of our hotel, we embarked on a biking adventure through Kampong Cham town, venturing into the picturesque countryside along the Mekong River. Our journey includes exploration of diverse farmland, such as flower farms, fruit and vegetable plantations, as well as visits to the Muslim community, Bamboo sticky villages, and lotus farms. We’ll pause for lunch at a stunning restaurant overlooking the Mekong River, soaking in the serene surroundings. Following lunch, we’ll continue our biking excursion through local villages, where we’ll have the chance to interact with residents, including those practicing traditional crafts like blacksmithing and handmade product creation. Later, we’ll transfer to Kratie, a charming French colonial town, where we’ll spend the night, reflecting on the day’s adventures and anticipating what lies ahead.

  3. Day 3: Mekong Kayak Expedition to See Freshwater Dolphins & Twilight Boat Trip

    Today’s itinerary features a shorter bike ride compared to the previous two days. We’ll start by cycling through the countryside of Kratie, exploring local farms, and learning about the traditional method of making bamboo sticky rice from the locals. Our next stop is the Dolphin site, where we’ll embark on a kayaking excursion along the Mekong River to observe the endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins as part of our conservation efforts. After a refreshing lunch at a picnic hut by the Mekong River, we’ll transfer to Koh Samseb Island, a newly established ecotourism community. Here, we’ll embark on a boat trip along the Mekong River, where we’ll have the opportunity to explore numerous beautiful islands, observe birds, and engage in fishing activities during the twilight hours. The adventure continues as we conclude the day by setting up our camping tents for an overnight stay on the hidden island within the ecotourism community. We’ll unwind with a sunset cool beer or wine, enjoying a delicious dinner served by the local community as we immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the surroundings.

  4. Day 4: Morning Hike on the Island and Jungle Bike Ride

Afterward, we embark on an easy hike through the island jungle, where we’ll have the opportunity to observe various bird species and visit local farms where villagers grow rice or vegetables when the water recedes. Following the hike, we’ll refresh ourselves with a boat ride before continuing our adventure by biking along the dirt trails of the ecotourism community, cycling through the jungle for another thrilling experience. Finally, we’ll hop in a car and drive to Siem Reap. We may arrive in this temple town by evening, allowing us some time to rest before dinner.

Islam is the religion of a majority of the Cham (also called Khmer Islam) and Malay minorities in Cambodia. According to the general Population census results of the Kingdom of Cambodia 2019, there are around 311,045 Muslims in the country as of 2019. As of 2016, data from the Ministry also recorded 884 mosques scattered all throughout Cambodia.

If you’re staying in urban centers and tourist-friendly towns like Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang and Sihanoukville, you won’t have trouble finding restaurants owned by Muslims. Your dining options are also varied. There are restaurants and stalls serving Khmer halal food.
